PeaceHealth Medical Group welcomes
Kristina L. Unterseher, ARNP, Nocturnist,
a hospitalist at PeaceHealth Medical Group.
Unterseher is a nationally certified family
nurse practitioner with additional specialty
certification in nephrology. After obtaining her
undergraduate degree in nursing in 1996 from
Boise State University, she worked at St. Luke’s
Regional Medical Center in Boise until 2008,
when she completed her graduate education at
Gonzaga University. She specializes in family
medicine and nephrology. A lifelong learner,
Unterseher enjoys reading about medicine,
history, and politics and is an exercise enthusi-
ast. She is one of 10 hospitalists at PeaceHealth
Medical Group. As a nocturnist with the
Medical Group, Unterseher provides care for
patients during their stay at the hospital in the
evening hours. PeaceHealth Medical Group is
located at 1615 Delaware St., Longview.

CONGRATULATIONS, DR. NEVILLE, ON YOUR NEW LEADERSHIP ROLE
Lawrence Neville, MD, is now serving as re-
gional medical director of PeaceHealth Medi-
cal Group. Dr. Neville has been a staff neu-
rologist with the medical group since 2005.
He is certified in neurology, hospice care, and
palliative medicine.
His education includes an undergraduate
degree in political science from Reed College
in Portland, Ore., and a master’s degree in
philosophy from Yale University. Dr. Neville
earned his medical degree from OHSU, where
he completed his internship and residency
in neurology. Also at OHSU, he finished a
fellowship in neuromuscular medicine and
electromyography in 2005 and has served as
an instructor in neurology.
At PeaceHealth, Dr. Neville has been active
in several clinical and leadership areas as co-
chair of the ethics committee, medical director
of the stroke program, department chair of
Internal Medicine, member of the leadership
council, and director of clinician mentorship.
Recently Dr. Neville has led Palliative Care
Services at PeaceHealth. He continues to see
patients on a part-time basis.
In his role as regional medical director,
Dr. Neville says: “My goal is to broaden and
deepen our longstanding commitment to
superb patient care. I will be working with our
excellent clinicians and nursing staff to roll out
new programs that will enhance our patients’
experience of receiving compassionate care,
while ensuring that we meet and exceed the
latest national guidelines for quality.”
DR. GRADIN TO OFFER OPHTHALMOLOGICAL SERVICES IN LONGVIEW
We are pleased to welcome Daniel Gradin,
MD, to our community. Dr. Gradin is on the
faculty of the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon
Health & Science University (OHSU) and
on the medical staff at PeaceHealth St. John
Medical Center. He practices full time at
OHSU’s Casey Eye Institute (previously Lower
Columbia Eye Clinic) in Longview.
Dr. Gradin received his MD from OHSU
and completed his residency in ophthalmology
at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center
in Washington, D.C. He then served as a major
in the U.S. Army for seven years before spend-
ing 11 years practicing ophthalmology
in Africa. He is an assistant professor of oph-
thalmology at OHSU’s Casey Eye Institute and
specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgery
in adults, the correction of strabismus, and
laser treatment for people with diabetes.
While in Africa, he was a CBM-sponsored
eye surgeon at PCEA Kikuyu Hospital in Nai-
robi, Kenya, where he performed over 12,000
operations, including over 1,000 cataract op-
erations in children, helping Kikuyu Hospital
position itself as a regional referral center for
childhood cataract surgery.
Dr. Gradin enjoys the outdoors. He has
climbed several mountains, including Mount
Kilimanjaro and Mount St. Helens. His
favorite pastime is riding his Honda Goldwing
motorcycle. He lives in Longview with his wife
and five children.
