THE P EACEHEA LTH S T. JOHN FOUNDAT I ON
capped an
extraordinary year of success with a great night of entertainment
at the 12th annual “A Star Affaire” fundraising gala. The 2013 event
was the best yet, as local stars offered delightful performances
aligning with the theme of the event, “A Night in Tinseltown.”
PeaceHealth St. John is grateful to all those who gave generously
to the Foundation in 2013. More than ever before, your medical
center is reliant on the generosity of our community to help us
continue to provide great health care. Profound shifts in the way
health care is consumed and paid for are driving PeaceHealth
St. John to find new efficiencies and new ways to serve the health
needs of our community. Your Foundation donations are vital in
helping us maintain great care as we adapt to the new world of
health care delivery.
Looking ahead, PeaceHealth St. John anticipates a significant
transformation in how we care for our patients. For our entire
history, we were here to provide care when our patients became
ill. Going forward, PeaceHealth St. John will be focusing increased
time, energy, and resources on keeping our patients well. Rather
than only raising funds for the latest piece of diagnostic equipment,
there is an excellent chance you’ll also be hearing about our efforts
to develop programs to encourage our patients to eat healthier,
exercise more, stop smoking, and get plenty of rest. It’s just what
the doctor ordered!

Paying it
forward
After retiring, Ceci Konvicka was looking for a
meaningful way to fill her time. She found that
volunteering at PeaceHealth St. John gives her
a “higher purpose and reason to be.” Ceci says
she’s met a lot of good people by volunteering
and respects others by treating everyone with
kindness.
